Nov. 21, 2007 -- Graco has recalled more than 300,000 of its stand-alone Graco SnugRide infant car seats because of?a potential choking hazard.

The car seats can still protect infants in a car wreck, according to Graco.

But the backing of the seat pad may pull away from the seams in an area reachable to the baby in the car seat, exposing the pad filling and posing a potential choking hazard.

Graco is offering replacement kits that include a replacement seat pad. Call (800) 345-4109 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time or visit Graco's web site for more information.

Before you call, check the label on the back of the car seat for the car seat's model number and date of manufacture. You'll need that information when you talk to Graco.

The recall applies to 304,675 Graco SnugRide infant car seats made between August 2006 and June 2007 with the following model numbers:

The car seats were sold nationwide between August 2006 and Nov. 11, 2007. The recall doesn't include any SnugRide models made before August 2006 or any SnugRide Models sold as a travel system.
