内容提要：
    我国的生命科学与生物技术和美国、日本等发达国家相比还有较大差距，存在生命科学基础理论研究不够深入扎实、学术创新能力不强、拥有自主知识产权的生物技术产品种类少、产量低、生物技术产业规模小、相关配套产业社会化程度低等问题。为了高等院校师生和广大科技人员借鉴和学习发达国家生命科学与技术的先进理论和技术，提高我国在生物经济方面的竞争力，我们精选了一批国外优秀生命科学与生物技术著作，组织专家进行了评阅和审核，希望能对高等院校师生和广大科技人员有所帮助，同时对我国生命科学和生物技术产业赶超世界先进水平起到一定的推动作用。
