In the May 2000 issue of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, in the article by Meirhaeghe et al (Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol. 2000:20:1330–1334.), there was an erroneous inversion regarding the allele designation. The allele frequencies are 0.6 for the G (wild-type) and 0.4 for the A allele and not the opposite as previously written. Therefore, in the text and tables, the readers should read "G" instead of "A" and conversely. It is the A allele that is associated with higher plasma triglyceride levels in women. The authors regret the inconvenience that this error has caused.
