学术盛会。在此，我谨代表中国药学会，对出席大会开幕式的各位领导和中外来宾表示热烈的欢迎并致以诚挚的问候！
中国药学会成立于1907年。一百年来，中国药学会的发展和壮大，始终和中华民族命运紧密联系在一起，见证了中华民族医药事业由弱到强、由小到大的全过程。中华民族医药博大精深，它是几千年来我国人民与疾病斗争的实践结晶，为人类的繁衍和健康事业做出了重大贡献。近年来，科学技术尤其是生命科学领域技术的发展日新月异，药学研究进入了一个崭新的时代。中国在结合现代生物科学技术、发掘中医
中药、创制中西结合特色新型药物等方面取得了可喜的进步，生物技术行业取得的成就令全球瞩目，一批自主创新的重大新药已经上市，并取得了较好的社会效益和经济效益。这些成绩的取得，与中国药学界密切关注国际先进科学技术进展、加强国际交流与合作分不开，也是国际友人、专家学者的大力帮助和支持的结果。在此，我代表中国药学会，对为中国药学事业的发展做出贡献的国际友人和各界人士，表示衷心的感谢和崇高的敬意！
近年来，全球范围的民众对于健康问题的关注达到了新的高度。在人类高度文明的今天，选择怎样的药物以及用何种方式，来达到科学、合理、安全、经济、简便使用药物的目的，确实是一个永恒的课题。希望各位代表紧紧围绕本届大会的主题——“循证药学与药品优化使用”，进行开诚布公的讨论，集思广益，形成共识，以谋求全球范围内的广泛合作，大力推动合理用药、安全用药工作的开展，为人类健康事业谋取福祉，为和谐世界建设做出我们的新贡献。
最后，祝愿五大洲的朋友们在中国期间身体健康、生活愉快！

The 67th World Pharmaceutical Conference jointly prepared and heldby International Pharmaceutical Federation and Chinese PharmaceuticalAssociation opens ceremoniously in Beijing. Nearly 3000 guests frompharmaceutical circle around the world have attended this conference.It is a grand academic occasion for the world pharmaceutical industry.On behalf of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warm welcome and gracious greetings toall leaders and guests from both China and the world to attend thisconference.
Chinese Pharmaceutical Association was established in 1907. For acentury, the development and growth of Chinese Pharmaceutical Associationhave been closely linked with the destiny of the Chinese nation and haswitnessed the complete process of the growth of the Chinese pharmaceuticalindustry from a weak and small scale to a large and strong industry today.The Chinese pharmacy, extensive and profound, is an achievement accumulated from the practices against diseases for thousands of years. In recentyears, science and technology, particularly the technologies of life science have been developed rapidly and pharmaceutical research has entered a completely new era. China has made great achievements inexploring Chneseiherbal medicines and developing new medicines with Chinese and westerncharacteristics by combining modern biological technologies. China''sachievements in the biotech industry have also attracted attention fromthe world as a great number of new medicines developed by Chinese companieshave been launched to the market and achieved remarkable social and economicbenefits. These achievements are due to the close attention paid to theprogress of the world''s advanced technologies and the strengthening of international cooperation by the Chinese pharmaceutical circle. It is a result largely owed to the generous help and support from our overseasfriends, specialists and scholars. Please allow me, on behalf of ChinesePharmaceutical Association, to express my heartfelt thanks to our overseasfriends and people from all walks of life that have contributed to thedevelopment of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry.
In recent years, people around the world are paying higher attentionto health issues which has reached a new peak. Today, the human civilizationhas reached a new height and it has become an eternal topic as what medicinesto be selected and how to use the medicines in the process of fighting against diseases in order to use medicines scientifically, reasonably, safely, economically and conveniently. I hope that all representativeswould discuss pharmacy and optimized use of medicines openly by centeringon the major topics of the conference, gathering opinions and reachingmutual understanding in order to seek broader global cooperation, promotethe reasonable and safe use of medicines, gain benefit for the health ofthe human beings and contribute to the construction of a world of harmony.
Finally, please allow me to wish our friends from all over the worldgood health and happy life during the stay in China.

The theme of our 67th Congress, ''From Anecdote to Evidence: PharmacistsHelping Patients Make the Best Use of Medicines, ''is a powerful statementof that same mission. With your continuing help, together we will strivetoward achieving this mission.
As a global Federation of 120 organizations in more than 80 countries,we represent and serve over 1.5 million Pharmacists and PharmaceuticalScientists. The future of Pharmacy and Global Health Care through adequateaccess and rational use of medicines is literally in our hands, whetheras a pharmacy in an isolated village in Africa, or as an ultra modernpharmaceutical unit in a plush private hospital in Europe. Our FIP visionis rooted in ours eeing, feeling and accepting the responsibility to wholeheartedly offer our skills and knowledge for the betterment of healthand the wellness of individuals.
Let me now speak about China, this historic site and our gracioushost for the 67th FIP Congress. Your being here illustrates a dedicationand commitment to thinking, looking and acting outside of your every dayenvironments. For many of us, the FIP Congress offers exposure to areasunknown, and reveals local aspects of practice and science to which wehave yet to be exposed. China is no exception. We are here in a nationat the dawn of its potential for clinical research and clinical trials.China''s medicinal history is steeped in thousands of years of traditionalpractice, yet is steering future therapies in innovative directions.Much is to belearned from our hosts and their country, and I encourageall to embrace this opportunity to its fullestpot ential.

Your Associations are windows for FIP on world health care, populations,and patients. You are networks of windows which show our strengths and ourchallenges, our concerns and our deeply shared values and commitments tothe Best Pharmaceutical Practices and Scientific Standards. I feel deepconfidence in knowing that you will join me in ensuring that the criticalmission of FIP will be achieved. Your presence at this Congress deepensand further cements our shared commitment.

在此，我代表FIP向中国药学会以及桑国卫理事长，祝贺中国药学会百年华诞。
尊敬的主办方——中国药学会，将会是一个供全世界学习的榜样。我们希望中国的药学家和药学工作者们更加努力实施你们的计划并获得成功。这样，你们将可实现满足全民基础用药的目标。
