《Nature》周刊是世界上著名的科技期刊之一，自1869年创刊以来，《Nature》周刊始终如一地报道和评论全球科技领域里最重要的突破成果和尖端科技信息，其办刊宗旨是“将科学发现的重要结果介绍给广大读者，让广大读者尽早知道全世界自然知识的每一分支中取得的所有进展”。
院校图书馆目前订购了《Nature》周刊、NPG(The Nature Publishing Group)出版的系列研究月刊和评论月刊、EMBO Journal & EMBO Reports的电子版使用权，全文数据自1997至2006年。在医科院系统范围内IP限制开通全文网络版期刊。有IP段的单位免费阅览。目前有IP段的单位是：医科院院直机关、协和医院（东院）、阜外医院、肿瘤医院、基础所、药生所、药物所、昆明生物所、天津血研所、天津放射所、药植所。 同时开通试用 “Nature 和Nature Biotechnology、Nature Medicine、Nature Genetics、Nature Structural & Molecular Biology”五本杂志的10年回溯数据（1987－96年）。试用从
